Payment Plan

Alert

Please be advised, if your application is not filled out completely, it will not be processed. Note: your application will only be processed for the options you checked.

Voluntary payment plan, renew your vehicle registration, or driver’s license reinstatement plan.

A Financial Affidavit and Questionnaire must be filled out regarding why you are applying for a payment plan. You must check all options that apply.

The County Attorney’ Office will prepare the type of Payment Plan you request on the questionnaire page and mail a letter to the address you put on your application when your plan is ready to be signed.

Driver's License Reinstatement Payment Plan

If you want a driver’s license reinstatement payment plan (CAPPS/DLR), you are required to have and keep vehicle insurance while on the payment plan. If you do not own a car, you must have non-owner’s insurance or be listed as a driver on another policy.

Once your application has been approved, it will take approximately fourteen days after you sign the plan(s) to get your driver’s license. You must contact the Iowa Department of Transportation and meet all of the requirements to obtain a license.

Vehicle Registration

For vehicle registration, once entering into a payment plan and completing the options you were given, you maybe eligible for a release (good for 10 days) to renew your vehicle registration if needed. If you need a release to allow you to register a vehicle, you will need to sign up for a payment plan and make a payment of at least 10% of your past-due court debt. Once you meet the requirements and receive your release, the release will be good for 10 days.

You are required to get on a payment plan(s) for all your delinquent fines.
