Emergency Management

Monona County's Emergency Management Agency is responsible for the coordination of the Emergency Response activities of various law enforcement and fire departments, the Hazardous Material Response Team, local hospital, medical and ambulance services, as well as Red Cross, Salvation Army, Health & Human Services agencies.

Emergency Updates and Warnings

Emergency updates and warnings are posted on the Monona County Sheriff Facebook page. 

EMA Duties:

Primary duties include, but aren't limited to:Monona County Emergency Management logo.

  • Responsible for county-wide multi-hazards and their contingency plans.
  • Coordinates emergency planning activities & services in the event of disaster.
  • Assists governing officials of municipalities & county in the event of a disaster.
  • Promotes public knowledge of emergency management and disseminates information to the public.

A major function of the EMA is to support the responder agencies in safeguarding Monona County during periods of disaster. The assistance given by EMA falls into four main categories: Mitigation, Preparation, Response & Recovery.
