Monona County is located in Western Iowa on the Iowa / Nebraska border.
The County Engineer plans, coordinates, assigns, and supervises all engineering work and construction work performed by the Secondary Roads Department. The engineer also prepares and lets contract documents for projects, prepares an annual budget, five-year construction plan, and manages office staff. The role requires good communications skills and the ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with county personnel, contractors, vendors, and the public.
Applicants must have an Iowa Professional Engineering License. Possession of a Land Surveyor’s License would also be beneficial but is not required.
Salary is $80,000 to $100,000 based on experience and qualifications. Monona County offers an excellent benefit package including health insurance, IPERS retirement plan, and paid time off among other great benefits
