The Monona County Attorney’s Office is accepting applications for an Assistant County Attorney.

The position is currently part time estimated to be 20-30 hours per week. Applicants must be licensed to practice in the State of Iowa and their license to practice has remained in good standing at all times. Starting salary is dependent on hours worked per week. Benefits include possibility of healthcare insurance, paid vacation, and IPERS retirement plan, as well as other optional benefits.

 

The Assistant County Attorney will function under the general supervision of the County Attorney, perform the duties as assigned or required as set forth by law and rule.

Responsibilities

  • The Assistant County Attorney will function under the general supervision of the County Attorney, perform the duties as assigned or required as set forth by law and rule.
  • The Assistant County Attorney will work closely with law enforcement, victims, the public, judges, court staff, and other attorneys.
  • Primary duties will include prosecution of misdemeanor and felony offenses, juvenile, mental health and substance abuse dockets.
